Rescue Me by Susan May Warren (Book 2 in the Montana Rescue series)

If you enjoyed the first book, Wild Montana Skies, as much as I did, then I'm sure you can't wait to get your hands on the next book in this series! Susan May Warren does a great job telling the story of Deputy Sam Brooks in this newest book, Rescue Me.

Summary:
Deputy Sam Brooks is a practical kind of guy.  He's predictable, dependable and organized. You can always count on him to do the right thing, but as far as living a little, well... he can't let himself go that far.
Willow has had a rough life, but has found a calling with leading the teens at her church. This voluntary job is so fulfilling and she hoping to make it a permanent paid job and fulfill her dreams. Although, Willow doesn't have that great of a track record with being stable.  She wears her heart on her sleeve, has worked multiple odd jobs and has a crazy past with her hippie mom that involves living in a commune. And to top it off, she is crazy in-love-with Sam, her sister's boyfriend.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed reading this book and read it pretty quickly.  Once I started the book, it was hard to put down. The story was a could continuation of the PEAK Rescue team's story.  Sam is so sure that Sierra is the perfect fit for him. She is everything he ever wanted in a girl.  But something is just off, and he wants so desperately to win her heart.  I love how Susan May Warren puts Sam into some unpredictable situations to get him out of his comfort zone and to reevaluate the path he has been on. It gets him to take a step back from his life and see things that he has overlooked concerning some people in his life.
Willow's story is fun to see evolve. She has had such a different upbringing, but is every bit as useful to God as others who have had a great education and family life. Just because her life circumstances weren't great doesn't mean that she doesn't have great potential. I like how Rescue Me leaves you wondering whose story the next book will contain and how relationships will change among the PEAK rescue team.  I would definitely recommend this book.
