The Patriot Bride by Kimberley Woodhouse (Book 4 in The Daughters of the Mayflower series)

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate as an American. The picnics, time with family and fireworks are something I look forward to every year. And this month, the newest book in the Daughters of the Mayflower series released. The Patriot Bride by Kimberley Woodhouse picks up the timeline in the year 1774 during the American Revolutionary War when we won our independence from Great Britain. Find out why you should check out this newest book in the series.

From the Back Cover:
Faith Jackson is a wealthy widow, friend of George Washington, and staunch supporter of the Patriot cause. She is living in Boston and holding meetings with likeminded women when the British invade.
Matthew Weber is friends with both Ben Franklin and his son William, who increasingly differ in their political views. Matthew soon finds himself privy to information on both sides of the conflict.
When a message needs to get to a spy among the Loyalists, Faith bravely steps up, and in turn meets Matthew Weber. Suddenly she believes she could love again. But someone else has his eye on the Faith she portrays in elite social circles, stalking her every move.
What will Matthew and Faith have to sacrifice for the sake of their fledgling country?

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed reading this novel. The story line moved at a good pace and kept my interest from start to finish. This story is an interesting one in that a women becomes a spy for the Patriots. There's a good amount of tension that builds in the story as her spy missions get more and more dangerous. Not to mention, the added tension of a stalker makes the story even more intriguing. I enjoyed the main character, Faith. Her personality showed confidence and character as she faced each of her trials head on. It has been fun to read through this series as it moves through key points in history. I would recommend that you read them in order; although, each book can be a stand-alone story.

You can read my other reviews of the first 3 books here:
